Octane SystemsTechnology · Finance

Two practitioners, one firm.

Octane Systems was set up in 2026 by Noel and Stacey Kilby to do one thing well: take on the technology and finance problems that stop businesses working properly, and fix them with our own hands.

Between us we cover the two sides of most business problems, the systems and the processes, so a client does not have to brief two suppliers and referee between them.

We work with owner-managed businesses and professional practices, usually of a size where the directors still do much of the finance and IT themselves and know exactly what is costing them time.

Noel Kilby

Noel has spent more than 25 years working across legal and technology. He ran e-discovery operations and project delivery, and built enterprise document-review platforms, including at CTO level, where the work was measured in millions of documents and hard court deadlines.

He still writes code. At Octane he designs and builds the web platforms, infrastructure, data pipelines and AI-agent workflows we deliver, and runs the products we have built for ourselves.

Stacey Kilby

Stacey is a qualified chartered certified accountant (ACCA). She has worked inside fast-growing companies where the finance function had to be rebuilt while the business kept running: process assessment, process re-engineering and business restructuring, alongside the day-to-day of accounts payable, billing, payroll and month-end.

At Octane she leads the Finance & Operations practice: finding the manual work in a finance function, redesigning the process, and automating it with the software the client already pays for.

How we work

  • We start with a free conversation and, where it helps, a short paid assessment with a written set of recommendations. You can act on them with us or without us.
  • We agree scope and a fixed price or a day rate before work starts, and we tell you early if something changes.
  • Everything we set up is in your name: domains, hosting, cloud accounts, software licences, data. We hand over documentation, not dependency.
  • We use AI tools throughout our work, under our own review. We tell clients where we have used them and we never publish or submit anything a person has not checked.
  • We work remotely by default and visit where it helps. We are based in London and work with clients across the UK.

Tell us what is not working.

The first conversation is free and there is no obligation.
